Ever before I could talk, I'd always been curious about stories.

Maybe we can work together next?
Here’s one about me.
Growing up in Jamaica, close friends never called my dad by his first name, always by his last. So, as his American-born son, he made it my first. Felt that it would be a conversation starter.
Since you're here, it probably worked. (Like my dad, I’ve done some naming of my own. Like this program, that high school, and this all-women's racing team.)
People have known me by a few titles — copywriter, journalist, cultural strategist. The through-line has always been story. Fifteen years across advertising, journalism, and brand consulting, working with some of the largest companies in the world while staying curious about the cultures they were trying to reach — and the ones they were too slow to see.
Most recently, I was Cultural Strategy Director at GUT, a place where my work on Google Pixel's Real Tone campaign earned across three major advertising Grand Prix — Cannes Lions, The One Show and D&AD. It's the clearest proof I have of what I believe: the best brand stories don't just reflect culture. They build new ones.
Aerialist is where that belief lives now. I founded it in 2020, stepped away for a stint, and came back in 2025 — because the work I want to do in the world needs a home I built myself. Brand storytelling, cultural intelligence, content and platform strategy. Not three services. One way of seeing. I also co-founded 600 & Rising, an advocacy organization for Black talent in advertising, and helped build the Allyship & Action platform, an award-winning anti-bias summit and ideas incubator. That chapter is closed — but it shaped how I think about building things meant to matter beyond yourself.
I’m also a public speaker who’s moderated panel discussions and fireside chats at Advertising Week, CDX, 3% Conference, Where Are All the Black People and MAIP Summit. I’ve served as a judge for the One Club’s Next Creative Leaders and Young Ones competitions, as well as the American Advertising Awards.
My mission is to build homes for stories — and to help the brands and builders brave enough to mean something, understand the culture they're building in, and build it better.
But this bio isn’t just for me to talk that talk. I’m here to create and to collaborate.
Hopefully with you. So let’s work.
